House Decorators
Front Living Room window in St.
Petersburg residence, showing blend of
new and antique accessories.
Detail of living room fireplace
(decorated for Christmas), showing
stonework, sconces, and "classic"
mirror.  Original fireplace was pale
buff brick, badly stained by soot,
with poorly constructed wooden
mantle.
Christmas tree framed by
Moroccan-influenced arch.  Tree is in
corner of adjacent room, leaving
passage clear for traffic.  Note
wrought iron brackets with
hand-made shelving.
Detail of wall stencilling.
Stencil was hand-cut to match
fabric pattern and was done in
relief using layers of texturing
medium.  Although not visible
in this photo, surface of
stencil is also lightly
highlighted in dry-brushed
gold for emphasis.  Also
evident is depth of wall finish
done in a modified rag rolling
technique.  (NOTE:  There are
approximtely 10 different
layers and washes of paint in
the darker lower section and
the stencil, not including the
dry-brushed gold, and
approximately  8 in the lighter
top section.)
Victorian ceiling treatment
in parlor.  Entire surface is
textured in a stamped tin
look, with embossed
medallion and traditional
crown moulding.  Ceiling
paint is high gloss white,
and walls are alternating
stripes of gloss and flat
lavender.
This set of shelves with their
sea-side accessories help
this living room in a 50's
bungalow achieve a cottage
feel.  Rather than hanging
the pictures on the wall,
setting them on the shelves
was a more casual
presentation method.

(Note:   Wall color is flat
white, with gloss white
shelves.  This results in very
little contrast in the photo,
but contributes to the overall
sea-side cottage feel desired
by the homeowner.)
The selection of
tropical-themed
accessories and
furnishings help give
this screened porch
sitting room the light,
airy feel the owner
wanted.  The Florida
weather makes a room
like this an all-season
area, not always the
case in other parts of
the country!
We will be adding more examples as we assemble additional photos of our
projects.  Please check back regularly.
